About Dr. Paul Mayne, PhD, P.E.
Paul is an international expert on in-situ testing, geotechnical site characterization, and the evaluation of soil & rock properties. His particular research interests include the use, conduct, and interpretation of the piezocone, seismic cone and flat dilatometer test, especially with applications to evaluating soil parameters, foundation systems, and ground modification projects.
Currently Paul is a professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has given invited lectures internationally and provided CPT workshops & short courses around the world. Of recent, he delivered the 2006 James K. Mitchell Lecture at GeoShanghai, completed the 2007 NCHRP Synthesis 368 on Cone Penetration Testing, prepared the 2007 Keynote Overview on In-Situ Testing for the Singapore Workshop, and presented the SOA-1; Geomaterial Behaviour & Testing at the 17th ICSMGE in Egypt in 2009.
