GEOTECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES IN SOUTH AFRICA

Our Johannesburg office services the South African market providing site characterization to all sectors including mining, transportation, infrastructure, and energy. With over 30 years of experience across the world, our team of experts are dedicated to delivering a safe, high quality, and efficient site investigation on your next project.

Backed by a global suite of site characterization equipment, our South African fleet includes 200kN CPT track rigs with low ground pressure, capable of accessing terrain where wheeled vehicles cannot. The fleet is also supported by portable, highly adaptable 200kN ramsets which are well suited to remote and limited access work.

RSCPTu, DMT, and eVST in SOUTH AFRICA

Our South Africa team recently completed a site characterization program for a mine in the Limpopo province. The scope of work included:

  • Combined Resistivity Seismic (RSCPTu) soundings up to 60m depths
  • Dilatometer testing (DMT) profiles up to 40m
  • Both standard and fast Electric vane shear testing (eVST) at rates ranging from 6*/min to 1800*/min
  • Direct push VWP installations up to 60m
  • Direct push MOSTAP sampling up to 40m

All work was performed using multiple rigs during a single mobilization. Our expert team and full-service equipment setups ensured the safe, efficient completion of this program.
